Ashish

As usual the king of sequins remained loyal to his fans with a show packed full of.... yes sequins along with python prints, rainbow stripes and tinselled hair! But one thing everyone noticed while watching the show was the all back model line up including America's Next Top Model contestant Chantelle Brown-Young. The designer definitely made a strong statement about the continued dominance of white faces despite model diversity being an ongoing convo in the fashion world. Track pants, bombers and denim were given the Ashish sparkle and super cute pink fluffy shoes added to the mix (coming to Topshop stores Feb 2015). Pop culture influence from celebs such as Kimye and Miley were encrusted onto sweaters. At the end of the show I met US rapper EVE wearing a red Ashish bomber who was more than happy to take a picture.

I recently collaborated with Wolford to invite a few bloggers down to The Apartment (an exclusive lfw blogger's lounge) and do a quick photo shoot in the AW14 collection. The Apartmet is the perfect place where you can grab a coffee, use the wifi and just relax your feet from all the cobblestones of Somerset House during LFW. As well as view the amazing brands they have on display including one of my faves...Wolford!

We had so much fun on the shoot. I styled the Wolford Colorado string body with the Valencia skirt which can also be worn as a dress or a maxi skirt (both of which come in a variety of colours too). I love getting value for money on a garment! Adding a camel sleeveless coat belted with this divine lattice belt and accents of red from my check scarf kept my look chic. After the shoot I headed to the Burberry show in my transport for the day, a mirrored Mercedes Benz courtesy of Addison Lee.... and of course tacitly named the #selflee!  Thanks again Addison Lee for the perfect ride!

Burberry Prorsum

On the fourth day of LFW my first show of the day was Burberry. The flagship store on Bond Street held a small gathering to streamline the "Birds and the Bees" themed collection as it was happening. The talented Christopher Bailey always has a knack for forecasting trends each season which all the high street retailers follow and so everyone was interested to see what he had up his sleeve. The entire show was an explosion of colour. Tulle dresses were juxtaposed against denim jackets, all combined with candy floss fur bombers and sheer concertina pleats. Footwear consisted of sandals and sneakers so take note as I'm sure next season these will be continue to adorn every fashionista's feet around the world. The finale came in an array of models wearing the colourful trench coats immaculately belted with tulle at the waist. And to complete the experience all of this was set against the vocals of British musician James Bay. Once again another strong and powerful collection!

Now this was my type of show! Set in the dining room of the Rosewood London Hotel guests were served afternoon tea with delicious cakes and glasses of champagne. The collection was literally breath taking!  Relaxed elegance was mixed with fun elements through details of feathers, ethereal fabrics and embellishment. My highlight was the head to toe feather ensemble above which was a major statement in itself. The colour palette was kept neutral with black accents and there were a number of beautifully crafted midi skirts, all of which I would be honoured to have hanging in my closet!
